Mrs. Richardson is excited to start another great year at Ascent Academy West Jordan! She loves working with second graders and with our wonderful second-grade team. This will be her 7th year as a teacher, and each year has been a great adventure. Previously she has taught both first and third grade, but second grade is her favorite.
Mrs. Richardson strives to create a positive, collaborative classroom where students can ask questions, share accomplishments, and feel that they are learning and growing each day. In our “cool class” we learn, we keep trying, and we strive to find our inner genius.
Mrs. Richardson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University rather a long time ago. After several years working in the private sector and raising a family, she returned to Western Governors University where she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching.
She was born and raised in Taylorsville, Utah, and now lives in West Jordan with her husband, Steve, and her three children (Andrew, Sarah, and Daniel). She also has a border collie named Max. As a family we love to watch movies, play board games, go camping, and take walks. Her hobbies include reading, audiobooks, Marvel movies, and puzzles. Her favorite food is chocolate.
I am looking forward to great adventures with your students this year!
