I was born in Burley, Idaho sometime in the past. I am the oldest of ten children (five brothers, four sisters, and 39 nieces and nephews). I left Utah at the age of 18 and joined the United States Air Force. I served in Germany for five years before deciding to get married and have a family. I have a son living in San Antonio, Texas, a son and daughter-in-law and baby to be in October in Tuscan, Arizona, and my daughter lives with me and is a Senior at Copper Hills High School.
I taught in Japan for 2 years and Germany for about twelve years. I was a Preschool teacher, Kindergarten teacher, second grade teacher, and fourth grade teacher in various capacities. I owned my own tutoring business in Germany and worked with Kindergarten to college level students teaching math and reading.
My education consists of a Masters in Elementary Education, Masters in Administration, Bachelors in Paralegal/Business Management. I have a full endorsement in early childhood, almost finished with reading and mathematics level 2 endorsements.
My favorite thing to do is to go camping or sit on a beach. I love learning and I tend to take as many classes as I can on almost every subject imaginable. I read a book a night and thought it would be great to read for a living in my retirement years.
I enjoy traveling and have traveled extensively through Japan and Europe. I have walked the Great Wall of China, participated in Prague when the communist party resigned, shopped in East Berlin before the wall came down, and watched Swan Lake Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Teaching is my second career and it is my passion. I love seeing a child's face light up when he/she has that "ah! ha!" moment. I strive to do my very best and I am always looking for better ways to teach and improve.
